Leaving The Firm in Philly
/WTXF Anchor Shaynah Ferreira announced that she is leaving the Fox O&O in early September.
Ferreira has been with the station for the past 5 years. She did not say where she is headed next, because, you know, that’s another post to bring in clicks.
Here was her message posted on Instagram.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years since you first welcomed me into your homes.
Philadelphia has meant so much to me, both personally and professionally. It’s a city unlike any other. It’s been a joy to call this city home, to deliver the news, to build community, and be part of it. Being here has helped shape who I am today and it’s helped me become not only a better human, but a better journalist. You all managed to turn this Providence girly into a Philly Jawn — and I’ll carry that with me wherever I go.
That’s what makes this announcement so bittersweet.
After much prayer and consideration, I’ll be leaving @fox29philly next month. My final show will be Sunday, September 6th.
I want to thank all of you for being on this ride with me. I especially want to thank the station leadership for the opportunity to be part of such a special team. No one in this market does it quite like FOX 29, and that magic is rooted in the people — both on air and behind the scenes — who make it happen every day.
It has truly been an honor to be part of the iconic Good Day Philadelphia crew.
As for what’s next, I’ll be sharing those exciting details soon. For now, I want to focus on the present. We still have some time left together, and I plan to fully soak it all in before I sign off one final time.
Thanks for rocking with me, Philly. Love y’all deep. 🫶🏾
With a grateful heart,
