They Just Don't Get It
/At Scripps owned WCPO (Cincy), Reporter Stephen Knobel went on Facebook to flex that he is went to the Cincinnati Tennis Open on his day off and it was all for free.
Knobel used his media pass to get into the sporting even for free and then bragged about it on social media.
Maybe I’m old school, but I remember a media pass was to be used by the “working press” and not as a “free perk”.
And, even if you did use it to get into the event for free, posting about it on social media is really not cool.
I’m guessing that WCPO News Director Jonathan Adkins either doesn’t care, or hasn’t explained to the staff that this is not something you should do.
Then again, this is a Scripps station.
