Coming to O-Town
/WSVN (Miami) Anchor/Reporter Jack Royer is leaving the station and headed up I-95 to Orlando.
Royer will become the main Anchor at The Firm’s WOFL.
Before coming to WSVN around 3 years ago, Royer worked at WFLA in Tampa. He keeps moving, continues to stay in the Sunshine State.
Here’s the internal memo, sent to the staff at WOFL.
Please join me in welcoming our new evening anchor, Jack Royer, to the FOX 35 team!
Jack comes to us with a strong broadcasting background, most recently serving as a weekend anchor and reporter at WSVN in Miami, and previously at WFLA in Tampa. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he grew up in a newsroom family, following in the footsteps of his father, a long-time local anchor. Jack later served as the main anchor at CBS 42 in Birmingham, where his work helped earn a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast. A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, Jack actually got his start in broadcasting at just 14 years old calling high school football games.
In addition to his anchoring duties, Jack will be a key driver of our streaming initiatives. Jack will serve as a multi-platform asset, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the CTV and FAST landscapes. The goal is to capture new audiences wherever they choose to watch.
Jack is excited to call Central Florida home alongside his wife and their son.
"I've admired FOX 35's commitment to strong local journalism and serving viewers with integrity. I'm excited to work alongside such an outstanding team and help lead the station's evening newscasts into this next chapter," said Royer.
Jack's first day is Monday, August 10th.
