OUCH: CBS Mornings Hits Rock Bottom

If you’re still wondering how things are going at CBS with Bari Weiss in charge, well….

The folks over at the Black Rock have another massive milestone to celebrate—except this one isn’t going on a press release.

CBS Mornings just recorded its lowest-rated week in the history of the show.

For the week of July 13th, the network's flagship morning show averaged 1.59 million viewers. That marks the first time since Nielsen started tracking the show that its weekly average dipped below 1.6 million.

To put that into perspective:

  • That’s a 13% drop compared to the exact same week last year (1.83 million).

  • It follows hard on the heels of what was already CBS's lowest-rated June ever.

Meanwhile, over at Fox News, Fox & Friends pulled in 1.46 million viewers—up 4% year-over-year. A year ago, CBS had a comfortable 30% lead over Fox in that 7 to 9 a.m. slot. Today? That lead has shriveled to just 9%.

You can bet the suits at Paramount and CBS News management are frantically drafting internal memos explaining how this is somehow a "win" in demo engagement or streaming impressions.

Because around the Glass House, the numbers may be falling, but the spin never stops.
