From Lex to the Natty

Megan Mannering is leaving Kentucky for Ohio.

Mannering, who currently anchors weeknights at WLEX in Lexington, is heading north to join Hearst’s WLWT in Cincinnati as a weekend evening co-anchor and reporter starting in September. She’ll sit alongside Aaron Thomas, taking over the slot vacated by Lindsay Stone, who left the station back in May.

Mannering has spent her entire post-college career inside the Scripps echo chamber since graduating from DePauw University in 2019. She started out at Scripps' station in Missoula, Montana, before jumping to Scripps-owned WLEX in 2022.

Now, she's ditching Scripps to join Hearst in Market #37.

Naturally, the press release came equipped with the standard canned newsroom quote. WLWT News Director Jeff Benscoter praised her experience covering floods, tornadoes, and a plane crash, saying it prepared her to "lead the way on coverage of major stories in Greater Cincinnati."

Mannering added that she’s "thrilled to join the talented team" and return closer to her Midwest roots.
