Nexstar Station Dropping CBS Affiliation?

There is a rumor going around in Albuquerque that Nexstar’s KRQE will be dropping its CBS affiliation when the contract comes up in a few weeks.

People both inside and at competing stations have heard the rumor and word is that a staff meeting at KRQE is planned to inform the employees.

FTVLive checked the KRQE schedule for this week and it still shows CBS shows and news running as usual.

Is this just a negotiation tactic by Nexstar, or will KRQE say goodbye to CBS after a decades long relationship?
