Allen Media Swiftly Pulls Plug on Newscasts

This one came as a complete shock to the staff.

Sources tell FTVLive that Allen Media’s KIMT (Mason City) is dumping their weekend 10pm newscasts, effective immediately.

This move leaves the station with NO NEWS on weekends other than the network’s CBS Mornings.

“This comes from the news director and general manager who aren't even in the market,” said a station insider to FTVLive, adding, “This literally just came down and NO ONE knew it was coming. The early evening weekend news died last year.”

It is another cost-cutting move by Byron Allen and his management team.
