For years, I have seen stories in which beauty pageant contestants have landed jobs in TV news. In fact, those stories are as old as the business itself.

But, it is not often that you will be a current TV news talent enter into a pageant.

At Nexstar’s WIVB in Buffalo, Chelsea Lovell the station’s former Traffic Anchor and current Lifestyle host took part in the Miss New York competition.

We’re told that Lovell won in the overall fitness and interview categories, but did not win the competition.

She placed as first runner up.

I would say that she could maybe parlay this into a job in local TV, but she already has that.

BTW- If you win the fitness category and the interview category, don’t you think she should have won the whole thing?

Maybe that’s just me….
