Resurfacing in Indianapolis
/This story has a lot of twists and turns in it….
Back in 2015, Circle City’s WISH (Indianapolis) parted ways with Investigative Reporter Karen Hensel. At the time, the Indianapolis Business Journal wrote, “It's not clear why Hensel and WISH parted ways, although a source close to WISH said Hensel’s dismissal appears to be at least in part a cost-cutting measure.”
Hensel landed a job at the NBC station in Boston, but was fired from that job in 2019.
In 2022, she filed a lawsuit against the Boston station, NBC and her old boss, claim in her suit that she was subjected to “a pattern and practice of ongoing harassment, gender discrimination and retaliation. During her employment at NBC10-Boston, plaintiff was continuously and repeatedly subjected to a sexually-hostile work environment.”
She then landed a job at WSVN in Miami. In May of 2024, Hensel left WSVN and said that after 4 decades in the news business, she was leaving TV news.
But, here we are in the Summer of 2026 and Hensel has been named the new Anchor at WRTV in Indianapolis, which is owned by Circle City Broadcasting.
In others words, she just came back, full circle, to the same company that this story started with.
You gots to love TV news.
