Evacuated in Lexington
/Both WLEX and WTVQ were knocked off the air after a transmitter issue that prompted the evacuation of the WTVQ building.
The station said that the Lexington Fire Department responded to WTVQ after smoke started filling the building. They said there were problems with transmitter equipment.
WLEX programming was still available to viewers on cable and satellite platforms.
WTVQ was knocked completely off-air.
The two stations have shared transmitter equipment for over a decade, which is why both are affected by the incident at the WTVQ facility.
