DOJ Signs Off on the Remaining Gray/Allen Media Deal

Back on March 23rd, the FCC and DOJ approved a portion of the sale of the Allen Media stations to Gray.

They sign off on the transfer of three stations—WLFI-TV (Lafayette, IN), WTHI-TV (Terre Haute, IN), and WTVA(TV) (Tupelo, MS)—to Gray Media.

Now, word is that the FCC and DOJ have signed off on the other 7 stations which were part of the deal. Gray was scheduled to take control at midnight last night.

Including the three stations above, Gray is expected to take control of WAAY (Huntsville, AL), WSIL (Paducah-Cape), WEVV (Evansville, IN), WFFT (Ft. Wayne, IN), WCOV (Montgomery, AL), KADN (Lafayette, LA), WTVA (Columbus-Tupelo, MS), WREX (Rockford, IL), WTHI (Terre Haute, IN), and WLFI (Lafayette, IN).

Allen Media owner Byron Allen is divesting these stations to address debt obligations after trying to make a significant expansion into local television.
