Scott,
First, thank you for constantly pulling the curtain back on the industry. Over a nearly 50-year career from radio-to-tv, on-air to management I've seen the rise, and now the fall in this once respected business. I really feel for my former co-workers dealing with today's managers who are just chess pieces for share holders and greedy bean-counters.
As for WRTV, take a look at the "news team" heading. Maybe one person over the age of 25? A couple of years in the biz? Working for a peanut-and-jelly sandwich? Biggest goal is to say "look Mom and Dad—I'm on TV!"?. Journalism isn't dying—it's dead.
From FTVLive’s Patron Page:
When I first got into television around 1970, I would have never dreamed by the time I retired, the business would evolve into chainsaws running amuck through a forest. Yet, here we are. The competition is over and the young punks have won. My heart goes out to those who picked television as a career only to see those careers vaporized. Never thought I would say this, but if you're in TV today, you'd better get out now.

I got into the business just three years ago. I have decided that the way things are going, this is not the career path I want to take. I plan of leaving before the end of the month.
