Finally! We get a Divorce Story!!

For years FTVLive has said that when stations waste viewers' time with talent weddings, or engagement announcements, they should also cover the divorce the same way. Well, one high-profile TV news divorce is getting some attention, at least in the tabloids. And, it is getting nasty.

The legal battle between WABC anchor Liz Cho and her estranged husband, former Good Morning America anchor Josh Elliott, has moved into the "paperwork war" phase. Cho is currently asking a Connecticut court to intervene, claiming Elliott is dragging his feet on handing over critical financial and travel records.

According to court filings from early March, Cho argues that Elliott has failed to produce requested documents despite having 60 days to comply. The "Eyewitness News" anchor is digging deep, requesting:

  • Credit Card Statements: Records dating back to January 1, 2020. Elliott has called the request "unreasonable" and "harassing," claiming he has already provided records for one account and that no others exist.

  • Income & Travel: Documentation of every cent earned and every trip taken (business or personal) since 2020, including airline receipts, limo services, and hotel bills.

  • Living Arrangements: Leases and rental agreements. While Elliott claims none exist, Cho’s filing points out that he has moved out of the marital home and is presumably living somewhere.

Things took a sharper turn when the discovery requests moved from bank statements to "romantic communications." Cho is seeking any emails, WeChat messages, or social media DMs between Elliott and any person with whom he may have had a romantic or sexual relationship during their marriage, dating back to 2015.

Elliott has filed an objection to these requests. While a source close to the couple insists these are "standard" legal maneuvers and that there is no evidence of infidelity during their ten-year marriage, the tone of the filings suggests the "happily ever after" promos have long since stopped airing.

Of course, FTVLive tipped you off to all of this, 6 years ago.
