I'm just one more piece of Collateral Damage.

Sadly, this is a story that we have been seeing and will continue to see more in the near future.

Matt Mrozinski was the Chief Photographer (or as Tegna calls it, Director of Visual Storytelling) at Tegna’s KING in Seattle.

As Nexstar took over the station, Mrozinski was told his services were no longer needed. “I'm just one more piece of collateral damage,” Mrozinski wrote on social media.

He’s now looking for a new job, most likely out of the business, “…I don't see a path forward for myself in a traditional newsroom”, he says.

His story will play out over and over again as Nexstar looks to consolidate operations across their stations.
