The Deuce is Done in Dallas
/It appears that the Deuce in Dallas is getting out before Nexstar comes in.
At Tegna’s WFAA, Assistant News Director Sheena Autin says that she is leaving the station.
This was her post on LinkedIn:
After nearly 13 years, I’ll say goodbye to WFAA next week.
That sentence was hard to write.
How do you say goodbye to a place that became part of your identity?
A place filled with not just colleagues and friends, but people who truly became family.
It is not easy.
This decision comes after a lot of reflection and a pull to be more present in all aspects of my life, while continuing to do meaningful work that has defined my career.
WFAA taught me how to be a manager, and I will forever be grateful I had the opportunity to learn from the best women in the business: Carolyn Mungo and Leslie McCardel. I’m thankful for their guidance, trust, and friendship.
Together we navigated countless “unprecedented” days — the good, the great, the bad, and the ugly.
They showed me what leadership really looks like: empathy, fairness, and managing the whole person who shows up to work, not just the employee.
I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize the person who made this career possible: my husband, Aaron Autin.
Newsroom leadership comes with long hours, missed dinners, and plenty of unpredictability. He stepped in more times than I can count and carried our family through those moments with patience and support.
I couldn’t have done this without him.
I’m looking forward to being there for more family moments, and to what comes next.
The next chapter is exciting! I’ll share more about that soon, but for now, enjoy the flashback photos which are just a tiny glimpse of time well spent at the Mighty Ocho!
