3 and Out at the Nexstar Station
/Evening anchor K.C. Kantz is departing WTEN, the Nexstar-owned station in Albany.
Kantz announced his departure during Friday’s newscast and on social media, noting that his final day will be in late May. He joined the station in 2023, anchoring the weekday evening and late-night news alongside Trishna Begam.
Before moving to the Capital Region, Kantz held various roles—including sports anchor, reporter, and morning anchor—at stations in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. He is a graduate of Edinboro University.
Kantz is the third staff member to leave WTEN this year and the fourth broadcast journalist to depart the Albany market in 2026. Other recent departures from the station include political reporter Jamie DeLine, who moved to North Carolina, and reporter Anthony Krolikowski, who accepted a position at WRGB.
While Kantz indicated that he is moving on to a new professional and personal chapter, he has not yet announced his next destination.
