Nexstar News Nation’s Leland Vittert went on a rant about mass shootings that involved transgender suspects and said that the media continues to “bury” these deadly shootings.

He listed 5 mass shootings, which you can see in the screenshot above. The odd thing that I found is the fact that I knew about all the shootings he was talking about.

So, if the media is burying these shootings, how did I know about them?

I think Vittert and News Nation were more interested in scoring points with Donald Trump, knowing his hate for trans people.

Lastly, from the start of 2025 to now, there have been nearly 500 mass shootings that have happened. Of those 500, we learned from Vittert that 5 of those were carried out by trans people. Doesn’t seem like a very big percentage, does it?

While I think we should focus on these 5 shootings along with the other 495 mass shootings that have happened. Why are the number of mass shootings in the United States so much higher than anywhere else?

Let’s focus on the problem and not target a single group.
