A Literal Tear that Fell onto My Blazer

When I saw this post about how hard WBZ (Boston) Reporter Penny Kmitt worked to earn her way to the Super Bowl, I quickly looked to see what position she played for the New England Patriots.

I was stunned to see that she wasn’t on the roster.

She wrote, “I can't help but think of everything I've sacrificed to get here - all the moves, missed holidays, lonely moments and long days... everything leading to this moment !!!!”

You see, Kmitt was paid to go to the Super Bowl. Her food was paid for, her accommodations were paid for and she got free admission to the game.

Imagine how the blue collar person from Boston that paid thousands of dollars to fly out to the game. Thousands of dollars for a hotel room. Money for transportation and thousands of dollars for a ticket, only to watch his/her team lose.

I wonder if a literal tear fell on their Patriot jersey, that they also had to pay for.

All I can say is, “Act as If…”
