Scripps News Director Leaving the Business
/Working for a company like Scripps can’t be any fun. So, we can’t really blame WKBW (Buffalo) News Director Aaron Mason for putting in his notice.
Mason is not just leaving the station, he is leaving the TV news industry altogether. “"They say you do your most growth when you step outside your comfort zone. So… here we go. November 19th will be my last day at WKBW-TV. After nearly 25 years in TV news - the last 12 at WKBW - I’ll soon be starting an exciting new journey as Director of Public and Media Relations for Catholic Health,” Mason said, adding “There’s no question TV news can be physically and emotionally exhausting.”
I don’t know the exact numbers, but with all the Scripps cuts, I have to bet that Mason was tasked with letting go more people than he hired.
You can’t blame the guy for wanting out.
