A Bit of a Stretch?

For the past 10 months, Aidan Stretch has been working for CBS News.

CBS lists Stretch as the network’s international reporter based in Kyiv, Ukraine, focused on covering Russia's invasion, humanitarian issues and diplomacy.

You maybe wondering what his background is, landing a network reporting job.

Well, unlike many network correspondents, Stretch never worked in a local TV newsroom. In fact he has never worked in any TV newsroom.

It appears that CBS News is his first full-time job since he graduated college.

His LinkedIn shows that prior to CBS, his jobs included some freelance writing for mainly right-wing news outlets. Along with a couple of internships.

He graduated from Yale, which, while impressive, he certainly lacks the reporting chops to be working for a major TV network.

But, I am guessing, for CBS News, the hiring price was damn near perfect.

Mike Wallace and Morley Safer just rolled over one more time.
