It will Be Called Skydance

Paramount Skydance Corporation Chairman and CEO David Ellison and Co-CEO Ynon Kreiz have unveiled the executive leadership team slated to run the combined media giant once its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery is finalized. The newly minted company will operate under the Skydance banner.

Under the transition plan, Ellison will spearhead the company's long-term strategy, creative direction, talent relationships, technology, and capital allocation. Kreiz will manage day-to-day operations and business integration.

Within the news division, the structure keeps familiar hands at the helm of the company's major broadcast and cable networks. Mark Thompson will remain in place as Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of CNN, while Bari Weiss will continue serving as Editor-in-Chief of CBS News.

How long that lasts, will be the biggest question in this merger.

You must remember that Ellison has taken on a massive debt and will have to make cuts, to help pay down that debt.

I still think you are looking at a CBS/CNN merger in the future.

Stay tuned…
