The New News Boss in Madison

Caroline Bach has been appointed Wisconsin Regional News Director for Allen Media Broadcasting, effective January 1, 2026.

Bach is based at WKOW, the Allen Media station in Madison. In her new role, she oversees news operations for the group's Wisconsin markets, which include WKOW, WAOW in Wausau, WXOW in La Crosse, and WQOW in Eau Claire.

Bach fills the regional vacancy created by the promotion of Dani Maxwell. Maxwell, who spent 14 years at WKOW, has moved into the role of National News Director for Allen Media Broadcasting, where she now oversees training, recruitment, and strategy for all AMB newsrooms across the country.

Bach has been with the broadcast group since 2012, starting her career at WVVA in West Virginia. She joined WKOW in 2014 as a weekend anchor and reporter. Over the last decade, she advanced through newsroom management, serving as Executive Producer, Content Manager, and most recently, Assistant News Director.
