Bumped Up in Houston
/KPRC, the Graham Media Group station in Houston, is restructuring its early evening lineup, officially moving longtime investigative reporter Joel Eisenbaum to the anchor desk.
Station management confirmed that Eisenbaum, a fixture at the station since 2005, will permanently anchor the 4 p.m. newscast beginning next week. Eisenbaum, who has recently served as a fill-in anchor, will maintain his duties as an investigative reporter alongside his new desk role.
The move is part of a broader talent realignment for the Houston NBC affiliate:
4:00 p.m.: Eisenbaum will co-anchor alongside Lisa Hernandez.
5:00 p.m.: Hernandez will continue to co-anchor this hour with Keith Garvin.
6:00 p.m.: Garvin will be joined by incoming anchor Stephania Jimenez.
Jimenez joins the Houston team from KSAT 12, Graham Media Group’s ABC affiliate in San Antonio, where she previously anchored. She makes her on-air debut in Houston on Jan. 28.
Background Eisenbaum is a market veteran, having joined KPRC nearly two decades ago. A graduate of the University of Southern California’s journalism master’s program, he previously teased the move on social media.
