Trouble in Tallahassee

An insider in Tallahassee says that a deal between the top-rated Gray station, WCTV and Sinclair has gone south.

The source says that WCTV, the Gray owned market powerhouse and CBS affiliate, pulled out of its deal to produce news for the Sinclair owned Fox affiliate Fox 49 at 7a and 10p.

“Sounds like WCTV wanted more money. Sinclair balked,” said the source.

WCTV is still producing the newscasts and are currently airing them on their My TV channel.

The Sinclair station is promoting its own new “local” news. But, just how local is it. We hear it will be produced and anchored from the Sinclair sister station in Pensacola.

That’s more than 4 hours away and a completely different market.
