Another One Out the Door at this Tegna Station

Just days after FTVLive reported that KHOU had fired their News Director, there is more turnover to report at the Tegna station in Houston.

Veteran anchor Shern-Min Chow has announced she is signing off after nearly 30 years with the station. Chow, who currently anchors the Noon and 4:00 PM newscasts, revealed that her final day will be February 9th.

She took to social media to break the news, citing the desire to pursue opportunities outside the constraints of a newsroom contract.

"There have been some other projects that I have wanted to do but can't while a full-time employee here," Chow said. "There will be more on that later. But right now I just want to take a moment to say thank you."

Chow is a true market veteran. Before joining KHOU in the summer of 1996, she made stops at Houston rivals KPRC and KTRK.

While the station begins the search for a new News Director, they will now also need to fill a significant opening on the desk.
