Take Down the Damn Tree

In my video today, I talk about living in Orlando and right next door to Disney.

Yesterday, on January 14th, I decided to go over to WDW’s Magic Kingdom for an exercise walk. I parked in the Disney parking lot and instead of taking the Monorail or the boat over to Magic Kingdom, I decided to walk around the lake.

It’s a few miles and it gets in an exercise walk that sure beats walking around your neighborhood. You walk around the lake and then walk through Magic Kingdom. No rides, no attractions, just a nice brisk walk.

When I got inside the park, I was shocked to see that Disney still has their Christmas decorations up and the holiday music still playing.

WTF?! It’s mid-January and Disney is still acting like it’s Christmas. In the past 5 years, I have never seen Disney do this. But, I think this is all about saving money.

Disney needs to transform EPCOT into the Festival of the Arts and I think that they have people working over there and they don’t want to pay others to come take the tree and decorations down in Magic Kingdom.

I believe Disney is being cheap. But, I’m guessing those at the O&os aren’t surprised by this.
