Nexstar Belt Tightening?

As we all know, if Nexstar can find away to save a dollar, they are likely going to go down that road.

It could mean not handing out raises, and if they do, 1 1/2% seems to be the norm.

A knowledgable FTVLive reader living in tech heavy San Francisco noticed a change that Nexstar made that could be all about saving a few dollars.

“For years, my local Newsnation affiliate KRON would stream their local newscast at 720p while other stations streamed at 1080p. Thern about a year ago or so KRON (and Newsnation's national cable streaming) added 1080p. Well last week they made a change and both modified their players to top out at 720p again. since it costs more money to serve 1080p video than 720p because the streams are so much fatter, I'm betting this is a cost cutting maneuver,” said the FTVLive reader.

Kind of strange from a company that says they are “digital first.”
