At one point in time, David Friend was the News Director at WCBS in New York, along with a CBS VP, overseeing all the CBS O&Os.

While many will tell you Friend was no friend as he ran roughshod over many at the O&Os. “David Friend was an asshole, that is the best way to describe him,” said one former CBS O&O News Director to FTVLive.

After a CBS investigation, Friend, along with O&O President Peter Dunn were relived of their duties. Friend was latter cleared in the investigation, but insiders say it did not excuse his arrogant behavior.

It came as no surprise that Friend spent the past nearly 5 years out of the buiness. There’s an old saying about stepping on the people on way up in the business, because you’ll see them again on your way back down.

It now appears that David Friend is back in the business, well, sort of.

According to his LinkedIn, Friend has started a new job as a Senior Vice President at the Trump Propaganda Network, which is also known as NewsMax.

Seem like a good fit.
