Protestors Show Up at Nexstar, Sinclair Stations

Protestors across the country gathered outside both Nexstar and Sinclair station’s to voice their opinion about the censorship by both media companies.

They protested the preemption of Jimmy Kimmel and also weighed in on the newscast coverage.

Outside Nexstar’s WTEN in Alabany, New York Congressman Paul Tonko of New York’s 20th District, says freedom of speech is the foundation of American society.

“This is a functioning democracy. We need not to go into autocracy. We need to make certain we hold fast to our freedoms of speech and freedom of press,” Tonko said. “How dare you deny us our voices? How dare you monitor and choose what speech is acceptable? That's not how it works.”

In New Haven, protestors stood outside WTNH. One held a sign that read “does Nexstar control the news we see?”

In Columbus, outside Sinclair’s WSYX, a large group gathered to protest the media group. “We deserve free speech, and we need to protect it,” said one protestor.

Sadly, neither Sinclair or Nexstar cares what these people think. They are only worried about an audience of one and that is Donald Trump.

Trump is the one that can push Nexstar and Sinclair’s deals through, making them bigger and bringing in more money.

As for these viewers making their voices heard, I can assure you, Nexstar and Sinclair are not listening.
