On Nexstar’s little watch CW network, they are running some college football highlights, which are billed as the “News Nation Highlights.”

It seems odd that a cable news station is doing the highlights and watching them was a bit cringe.

Looking at some highlights from THE Ohio State beating No. 1 Texas, listen to the News Nation Anchor say a,"beautiful thrown ball from the quarterback." Clearly, he has no idea what the name of the Ohio State Quarterback is. Then he calls the Texas QB “Archie Manning” when it is “Arch Manning.” His grandfather is Archie.

Talking about Arch Manning, the News Nation Anchors says, “this is a guy that people have been talking about as a Heisman Trophy winner, potentially by the end of the season.”

The Heisman Trophy is always given out at the end of the season and it has to do with which player played the best all season long.

If you’re going to do highlights, at least have someone who understands the game.
