Out in Omaha
/After 40 years in the area and 33 years at KETV (Omaha), Anchor Rob McCartney announced he is retiring.
He’s not leaving next week, or in two weeks, or even two months. He said that he will be leaving the station at the end of the year.
We’re not sure why that had to be announced in August, but they did it anyway.
"Forty years goes by in a flash. It's been my unbelievable honor to be able to bring you some of the most relevant and critical stories during that time," McCartney said. "I'm humbled that you have trusted me all these years."
"Rob is the consummate journalist," KETV general manager Allison Smith said. "He is constantly asking questions and looking for stories that need to be told. He truly cares about Omaha and our community."
"We will miss Rob's leadership in the newsroom but wish him well, as he can spend more time with his family and do the things he enjoys most," Sarah Klinger, KETV news director, said.
