Meteorologist Wins Lawsuit Against St. Louis Station

Former KMOV Meteorologist Meghan Danahey won nearly a million dollars in a lawsuit against the station.

When KMOV was owned by Meredith, Danahey claims her bosses discriminated against her and that caused anxiety and depression and harmed her job prospects.

She was eventually fired from the station and filed a lawsuit. The lawsuit claimed that Danahey was essentially demoted through schedule changes under a new News Director Scott Diener.

She claimed that Diener had intimidated her and contacted her union rep to report his alleged behavior. As the suit went through the courts, a jury ruled in April that Diener had not discriminated against Danahey.

But, this month a judge ruled in her favor against the station's parent company that the changes were practically a demotion despite no issues being raised over her performance or ratings.

Danahey won an $826,000 in the case.

Danahey now works at WLOS in Ashville. Scott Diener retired from KMOV back in June.
