New Anchor Named at Nexstar Station

Crystal Martinez has been named a permanent morning news anchor at WDAF-TV, the Nexstar-owned FOX affiliate in Kansas City, Missouri.

After filling in on a temporary basis in recent months, Martinez will now permanently co-anchor the 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. newscasts. She joins the established morning team of Abby Eden, Pat McGonigle, and Nick Vasos, and will also contribute to the station's 5–8 a.m. programming.

Martinez first joined WDAF in March 2024 as the anchor for the 4 p.m. newscast. Prior to her move to Kansas City, she was an Emmy-nominated morning anchor at KNWA in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She started her career at KXII in Ardmore, Oklahoma, after earning a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of North Texas.
