Watching News Nation
/One FTVLive reader watches Nexstar’s News Nation, mainly so you and I don’t have to.
This is their take on recent coverage.
NewsNation seems to be all but ignoring the mass shooting at an Austin, TX Target store and last week's rampage at the CDC. A few web stories (most from the Associated Press) but that's it. Almost nothing on-air. Why?
I wonder, is it because the suspect in Austin and the deceased shooter in Atlanta are young white men? The victims in both Austin and the CDC were not-white, including the fallen police officer in Atlanta.
Juxtapose that with the recent brawl in Cincinnati, an incident that warranted sending a crew out there for several days. As horrible as it was, no one was died. Why the focus on that specific incident? Could it because the victim is white and all of the suspects are Black?
Again, just asking why the disparity in coverage and who is making these calls?
