The Nexstar Blueprint for Making Cuts

Many wonder when/if Nexstar takes over Tegna, where will the cuts be made when they consolidate the stations?

While many can guess, we do have a past example that might give us the answer.

Back on September 1, 2023, Nexstar acquired KUSI (San Diego) from McKinnon Broadcasting Company, for the small price of just $35 million dollars.

Nexstar had already owned KSWB, the Fox affiliate in San Diego. The company then consolidated the two stations.

Most of the cuts Nexstar made were made from staff at KUSI, the station they bought.

So, is that the blueprint Nexstar will follow when they acquire Tegna?
