Doing It for 3 Decades

U.S. Congressman Sanford Bishop has formally recognized WALB (Albany, GA) Chief Meteorologist Yolanda Amadeo for 30 years of service by entering a tribute into the official proceedings of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The honor commemorates Amadeo’s career milestone, which she reached in July 2025. Amadeo was presented with the congressional honor during a live newscast on Monday, August 11. Congressman Bishop and Dr. Shirley Reese, who submitted the nomination, were present for the announcement.

Entering a statement into the Congressional Record is a formal procedure a member of Congress can use to officially document achievements of national or community significance. Amadeo has been the Chief Meteorologist for the station serving Albany and Southwest Georgia since 1995.
