How Journalism Lost its Way Part 2

On the social media page for KPNX Anchor Vanessa Ramirez, she describes herself this way, “Just an Arizona gal who loves to talk into a mic and smile for the camera!”

I think she nailed her description, and notice no mention of being a Journalist.

She posted an ad on her Facebook page for a Christmas in July giveaway.

Former Tampa Reporter Peter Bernard, called her out for shilling in the comments. Ramirez responded with “times have changed.”

If you want to be a Journalist, the times have NOT changed.

But, since station management does not set any guidlines, shit like this will continue.

And, this is a big part as to why viewers trust in local journalism is at an all-time low.
