It Was Not Immediately Unclear

In a story on the ABC News website about the second U.S. fighter jet that has fallen into the Rea Sea in just over a week, ABC News wrote this.

“It was not immediately unclear…” Huh?

Then it was “CLEAR” as to what happened, right? Yet, the story doesn’t read that way.

The story had two bylines, but obviously neither saw this.
