Peter Dunn Gets Big Pay Day

Peter Dunn was the President of the CBS O&O’s before he was fired.

But, it appears Dunn is getting the last laugh, after winning $10 million bucks in an arbitration ruling against CBS.

The NY Post reports that CBS will be paying out nearly $10 million to the former executive.

An arbitration appeals panel recently upheld the decision that CBS made a critical error by firing Dunn, then president of CBS Television Stations, before completing an investigation into accusations of racist and sexist comments.

Dunn's attorney, Larry Hutcher, contends that CBS caved to pressure from a "woke mob" seeking to "cancel" Dunn. According to Hutcher, the network's decision to fire Dunn a couple of months after a 2021 newspaper article surfaced anonymous claims of a hostile work environment – including an alleged comment calling a news anchor "too gay" – was a move to appease critics rather than a judgment based on a full investigation.

Hutcher stated in court papers that the report "destroyed" Dunn's life and hindered his ability to find other employment. He told The Post, "This was never about Peter’s conduct — it was to appease the woke mob. It was like the Red Scare, and it was very shortsighted and unfair." The network's attempt to alter the terms of Dunn's termination months after his initial dismissal further complicated the situation, ultimately leading to the substantial financial penalty.
