CBS News Boss Quits
/I think she would have been gone after the Skydance takeover, but it is happening now.
After four years, CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon resigned, citing disagreements with the company's direction, particularly regarding the potential settlement of a lawsuit filed by Donald Trump. Trump sued CBS over the editing of a "60 Minutes" interview with Kamala Harris, a claim the network denies.
McMahon's departure follows that of "60 Minutes" executive producer Bill Owens, both of whom reportedly opposed settling with Trump. This comes as CBS parent company Paramount Global seeks approval for a merger with Skydance Media and has also faced internal pressure regarding coverage of the Israel-Gaza war, leading to increased scrutiny of "60 Minutes" and the resignation of Owens.
McMahon noted the challenging recent months and expressed confidence in the remaining leadership.
Paramount leadership has lost any backbone in dealing with Trump and all they care about is their big payday and getting this deal to go through.
