Family in High Places

A resolution set to be introduced at the Jacksonville city council meeting will honor WTLV/WJXX Chief Meteorologist Tim Deegan's career.

The resolution specifically acknowledges Deegan's 43 years of service to the First Coast, noting his profound impact as a reliable source of weather information through both calm and severe conditions.

Deegan's career in Jacksonville began in 1982. By the age of 22, he joined First Coast News, which is owned by Tegna, as the morning show meteorologist and was promoted to chief meteorologist just four years later.

He does have a bit of an inside track, given the fact that Deegan's wife Donna Deegan, currently serves as the Mayor of Jacksonville.

Following Deegan's upcoming retirement, Lewis Turner will step into the role of chief meteorologist at First Coast News. "It’s an honor to follow in Tim’s footsteps,” Turner commented.

Deegan is scheduled to deliver his final forecast on May 30, 2025.
