This Schedule Change Has Employees Not Happy

At Hearst-owned KCRA (Sacramento) they made a schedule change, and it has some staffers pissed.

“All of the ops techs (PAs) on the night shift were just given a sweeping schedule change by their department head and were given ZERO say about it,” said a station insider to FTVLive.

This was the internal memo sent to the staff and obtained by FTVLive:

Hi Everyone,

You may have already heard that we are making changes for the PM shift from 4 (10's) to 5 (8's). This change will take place on the April 27%h schedule.

We will have some limited flexibility in the shift changes. Below is the new upcoming schedules.

Please reach out to myself or XXXX with any questions.

“They didn't even ask them if they could try to switch days around for better coverage, they just handed down a new schedule and said this is your life now,” an insider said.

As for that “limited flexibility”, one employee says don’t buy it. “I've heard from some of the techs that they tried to ask for simple switches and were refused outright,” the staffer said.

“It's crazy to me that this is coming from a Hearst station and what's more the top station in the market.  I thought Hearst was generally held to a better standard than this,” said an insider.

Sadly, the list of great stations to work for is dwindling.
