A strong society is one that is informed.

If you look at countries under authoritarian regimes, the one thing that is consistent is that the people are denied information.

Right now, the Trump administration is trying to censor the media. By changing which media outlets are allowed to cover White House events, to even where they sit in the press briefing room. The threats made against members of the media, sometime individuals, other times entire media companies, Trump wants full control of the message that goes out to the citizens.

Many of the media are playing along by these new rules and that is leading our country to move from a democracy to authoritarian regime. That should scare the hell out of people, and the people that can keep our democracy is YOU the media.

Now is the time for Journalists to step up. This is Democrat vs. Republican, this is one man trying to take away the very freedoms that our citizens have fought and died for.

Nexstar is asking viewers to write the FCC, so they can get bigger. Sinclair wants the same. These companies should be fighting for the United States citizens and they are more worried about making their wallets fatter.

Every media outlet should be boycotting the White House press briefings, until the White House does not get to handpick who sits where, or even who is allowed in the room. The second the White House banned the AP, every outlet should have had their back.

I’m not sure how this will end for the county, but wouldn’t it be nice to sit back and say that you were on the side of the American people and didn’t just sit by and made dancing TikTok’s and makeup videos.

The stock market crashing, the dismantling of Social Security, and all that is going on should have been your wake up call.

Let’s hope you hear the alarm.
