This story done by Scripps-owned KGUN (Tucson) and Anchor Heidi Alagha is tone-deaf and to be honest, quite embarrassing.
Alagha does a segment called “Hiring Heidi” where she goes out and attempts to do other people’s jobs.
Her last “Hiring Heidi”, she got to play police officer. She pretty much laughed throughout the entire story on being a police officer.
At one point, Alagha is running around with a gun happily shooting targets, including shooting police offers, and exclaiming about how she shot them dead. The police department says they would hire her despite the fact she seems pretty bloodthirsty and keeps equating what she’s doing to an action movie…which is insane given this is actual work police do.
How this story ever made air is beyond me, but then again, this is Scripps.
