The Inbox...

We got a number of emails from people responding to this story. We thought we would share a few.

Email:

The email crafted by this now former employee was articulate and accurate and skirts what is bigger problem for local TV…

Corporate greed? Of course. Beholden to the stockholders? Absolutely. But most companies, regardless of industry operate that way.

However, in local news you have corporations being run by people who are operating under the same model as 2005 and they have no desire to change.

They’ve aged out of the demo and, as one news director told me, are squeezing the sponge for all it’s worth and are going to leave all of us high and dry.

Email:

The email that Chase wrote when he resigned is the same email that almost anyone still working in TV news could write.

I give him credit for doing so.

Email:

Talk about leaving it all on the field.

I’ve found myself banging out a very similar resignation letter on numerous occasions.

One of these days I’ll hit the send button.
