Another Scripps Anchor Leaves

Scripps Anchors have been leaving the company at a break-neck speed, and you can add another to the just.

After 22 years at KSBY (San Luis Obispo) meteorologist, Dave Hovde is leaving after 22 years at the station.

Before making his home in San Luis Obispo, Hovde started as a reporter and photographer in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1989.

Over the next several years, he held different positions in several newsrooms, including chief meteorologist in both Bakersfield and Fargo, North Dakota.

He joined KSBY in 2003. “Keeping people safe is my #1 goal,” Hovde said.“I’ve worked early, late, and around the clock when needed. A life in TV has its ups and downs - it asks a lot of you. I hope I have risen to meet the challenge.”

He signs off in June and the station has started the search for his replacement.

News Director Kendra Martinez said “We are not rushing to fill this position. It is critical we find the right person for this very important role.”

Also, someone that will work for low pay she didn’t add, but should have.
