Even the News Director's are Getting Out
/It seems like that not a week goes by when we are reporting on someone that has decided to leave the business.
And it’s not just on-air people.
After 26 years at the station, WDRB News Director WDRB (Louisville) News Director Jennifer Keeney is not only leaving the station, she’s leaving the business altogether.
Keeney leaves TV news for the cop shop. She is becoming the communications director for the Louisville Metro Police Department.
Keeney began her career at WDRB in 1998 as the weekend assignment editor. She became the producer of Louisville’s first 4 p.m. newscast, when it launched in 2001, just days after the September 11 attacks. She was promoted to a long tenure as assistant news director before taking the helm of the newsroom three years ago.
Barry Fulmer is returning to WDRB to take over. What is interesting was Fulmer left WDRB to go to Scripps’ WCPO. Now, he’s bolting from Scripps after just over 3 years and headed back to Louisville. That should tell you something.
