Why is Nexstar Slow-Walking the Hire

It is interesting in the fact that Nexstar claims KRON in San Francisco is one of the company’s flagship stations, but KRON hasn’t had a General Manager for months.

KRON lost their GM last Summer and almost 9 months later the job has been listed a number of times, but never filled.

Can Nexstar not find anyone who wants the job? Or, are they slow-walking the hire to save money. Either way, it’s not a good look.

Insiders say that ratings have been down, mainly since KRON let longtime anchors Ken Wayne and Pam Moore go.

“The 10pm show that used to be competitive is down so far that it is being axed to just 30 minutes replaced by a sports show in a couple weeks,” said one station insider.

It should never take this long to fill a GM job in a top market, and it has KRON employees wondering, what’s up?
