Nexstar Station to Drop Newscast

Word is that Nexstar is trying to keep the news hush-hush, but word is that WDCW DC News Now is scrapping their local morning news show sometime this Summer.

Sources say that the station will fill the spot with a Nexstar show like The Hill in its place and go political.

“No one knows for sure what they are up to, but they are not renewing some talent as a result,” says one insider.

You may remember that just over a week ago, FTVLive told you that WDCW GM David Bangura was demoted to Harrisburg.

Insiders say that the place is a “shit show” and that’s why Bangura was knocked down the food chain.

WDCW News Director Ben Dobson got moved up to Station Manager, but many inside think that was a bad move by the company.

“Ben got rid of the station’s main evening anchor to bring in his best friend Susan Tran. She was brought in as a freelancer to fill in for the pregnant main evening anchor who was told not to come back after maternity leave,” said a station source.

The station is struggling in the ratings and appears to be struggling on the inside as well.
