Watered Down Weather at Allen Media

Allen Media has started doing their hub weather forecasts from the Weather Channel, and it is exactly what you would expect.

Looking at AMG’s WEVV in Evansville, IN and you can see the difference between a local forecast and a forecast from the Weather Channel.

On the 10PM newscast, host by the station’s local Meteorologist you can see much more detail. Look at the extended forecasts from the local Met and the next morning from the Weather Channel.

The local weather shows scattered storms on both Thursday and Friday, but you get none of that from the Weather Channel.

Also, the temps are different despite it being the same station.

When it comes to the Weather Channel’s Met, one viewer described his presentation as the Met just “…stands there at the weather pod like some automaton. No movement, no sense of emotion, nothing. It's very flat and it's as if he doesn't want to be doing this.”

I’m guessing, he doesn’t really care all that much.
